Tea Party Member Tells Carl PaladinoDon't Quit! Run On TheTaxpayer Line.

DON'T QUIT CARL
By Al Belardinelli

Carl Paladino is what he has always said he is - not what he said on NY1's "Inside City Hall" on Wednesday.

When I first read the news I was shocked. Then I rethought it and realized there may be good reasons why Carl would make the statement that he would quit if he doesn’t win the republican primary. As you can see my head began swirling. Over all I was disappointed.

When I get the chance this is what I will say to Carl – face to face.

I would say: Carl, we spent time together. You came to several of my events. I trust you and will support you – you are New York’s only hope. I consider you my friend and friends share truth so, with that, I say, you told me you were mad as hell and won’t take it anymore. You
said, I will run for Governor on the republican and conservative ballot, if they won’t have me I’ll form a new party and run on that. I will not quit until the end. But now you say, if you lose the primary you will quit.

You can’t do that Sir.

In my opinion your integrity means more than whether Cuomo wins. Your values mean more than allowing Lazio to win without you trying to stop another wrong republican choice to rule over us. Does McCain ring a bell? Will Lazio sweep corruption from New York? – NO. So, will it
really make much of a difference whether Lazio or Cuomo were Governor – NO. You are the people’s choice – you can’t split the vote. If anyone splits the vote – it’s the Republicans and Conservatives (whose only goal is to win elections and keep pulling the same old crap).

Don’t fall for the same old political tricks. Don’t sell your soul to the Republicans. Don't let Mike Long up from this beating before he is vanquished. Repeat after me, “I’m Mad As Hell And WON”T Take It Anymore. I didn’t mean to say I will quit, because I won’t. I’m in this race until I win or it is over after a recount of votes in November. I am a true New Yorker – not a politician."

New Yorkers know success is in the try and if at first you don’t succeed you try try again. The try began with Perot and many followed and suffered the same loss. This time a true New Yorker will make it work. Running on principals, logic and selflessness cannot be a simply a vote splitter or a spoiler helping the other guy win.

New York is waking up – we need you to slap them into truly awakening to the fact that sticking to principals is more important than worrying about splitting the vote and silly nonsense that goes along with that illogical thinking.

I hope you will say and do the right thing because besides you being Governor the most important thing there is right now is that, right here – right now, the Tax Payer Party – the party of “We The People” is born.

This week I held a news conference to unveil a plan for the Taxpayers Party. I believe this is the only true hope for New York and America.

Needless to say, after your comments on NY1 this suddenly developed into a difficult week. Phone calls of all sorts coming in. Tea Party members are disappointed; Republican and Conservative bosses are pleased. But all are wondering why you made the statement – especially at this time.

We firmly and undeniably support the Taxpayers line and maintaining that ballot position into future elections. I strongly believe a new party is the only hope New York and America has. You, my friend must establish the Taxpayers Party and with it save New York and America.

I am mad as hell and I won’t take it anymore - I’ve had enough and I won’t quit.  Don't you quit either, Carl.

Alvin Greene Action Figure=Awesome!

Alvin Greene, the Democratic nominee for the senate seat of South Carolina has a plan to boost South Carolina's Economy. Greene, an unemployed veteran ran a campaign that consisted mostly of vapor, but surprisingly won the nomination with 61% of the vote! In an interview Greene had this to say:

"Another thing we can do for jobs is make toys of me, especially for the holidays. Little dolls. Me. Like maybe little action dolls. Me in an army uniform, air force uniform, and me in my suit. They can make toys of me and my vehicle, especially for the holidays and Christmas for the kids. That's something that would create jobs. So you see I think out of the box like that. It's not something a typical person would bring up. That's something that could happen, that makes sense. It's not a joke."
This is easily one of the most awesome things I have ever heard. If I lived in South Carolina, I would vote for this guy. Yes he's a Democrat, I know. But seriously, Alvin Greene Action Figures? That would just rock.

Apparently Alvin is already getting his wish, sort of. A minor league baseball team gave out Alvin Greene statues at one of their games.

Art Garrison for 126th District-New York State Assembly

RP:Let's start with the basics. Why are you running?

AG:That's probably the hardest question you're going to ask me.
I'm running for the same reason a lot of people are upset, with what's going on in Albany. I'm just taking it one step further. It's a mess, the folks who represent us down there are doing a lousy job. We get polls that come out and 75% 83% of the people say that Albany is failing us. I agree. I'm a small business man, I have a degree in economics, that puts me two steps ahead of the folks that are down there now. They have no idea what their policies are doing to us. It's time to turn it around.

RP:Has it been difficult not being a politician, getting in to politics?

AG:There are good sides and bad sides to it. The people I meet are very receptive to the idea of having a non-politician represent them in Albany. My wife and I, my son and I, or a myself and a volunteer will go door to door, we do it almost every evening and we meet people. They are happy about it. The downside of course is the media, and the party machine kind of thing isn't meshed with someone they don't know. And so we kind of have to fight that lack of recognition.

RP:You are running against Donna Lupardo?

AG:She is the incumbent. Yes.

RP:What are the problems that you see in her administration, and what will you do differently if you are elected?

AG: The biggest thing that Donna does wrong is, she supports Sheldon Silver, the speaker of the assembly. Every session she votes for Sheldon to continue to run the show. Now anyone who has paid attention to Albany understands that there's three men in a room, one of which we have some say over, the Governor. The other two, the head of the senate, and the head of the assembly, we only get to vote for indirectly through our representative. Mr. Silver has been down there for decades screwing the State of New York up. We can't have representatives from upstate New York go down and support the types of legislation he continues to push through.

It's difficult for most people to realize this. The Brennan Center for Justice did a study, where they twice used the phrase 'dysfunctional' to describe the New York State Legislature. In 2007-2008 for example, that session, every piece of legislation that reached the floor of the New York State Assembly, Passed. That's really wild. Mr. Silver does not  let anything get to the floor unless 1. He wants it to be there and 2. he knows it's going to pass. There's no fresh ideas, there's no debate. It's very straight forward, we need to change the leadership on top.

RP:Can you tell me what the role of an Assemblyman is?

AG:It's probably easier to think of it as, you have a better handle on the House of Representatives, Federally. That's what an assembly person is supposed to be like. He represents, or she represents a particular area. In this case we are talking about the city of Binghamton, Vestal and the Town of Union which includes Endicott, Johnson City, Endwell. So it's the best interest of the people in those areas that you are supposed to be representing.

You are one of 150 people in the New York State Assembly. You have one vote. And than you have to work with the other assemblymen down there to pass the laws, take care of the budget, to make sure New York is going in the right direction. Obviously New York is not going in the right direction so we need to change the people who are going down there and doing things.

RP:The question on everyone's mind is the employment situation, and the lack of jobs. What would you like to do, or could you do if elected?

AG:We're in a vicious, downward spiral. The Assembly spends too much money, the state spends too much money. They raise taxes to cover the spending. The raising of the taxes drives businesses out of the area, we lose jobs. We lose jobs, it calls for more spending to cover the people who are out of work. We raise taxes again. More people leave, taxpayers leave. We raise property taxes because we put mandates on local municipalities, that drives people out.

It's all going in the wrong direction. So we have to start cutting spending and cutting taxes. Attract businesses to the area. Make the area more livable for the folks who are already here.

What's going to drive jobs is not government spending on these massive programs, you know, we'll spend 5 million dollars on something that produces 5 jobs. If that 5 million dollars is in the hands of local people and they are spending it in business, or they are going to restaurants, or stopping at a store, that will produce many many times the number of jobs that the government handling of it does.

RP:What is your message to the people of New York, what do you want them to know.

AG:Well the message is we have to turn New York around now. It's going the wrong way. I think almost everyone believes it's going the wrong way. If you look at some of the polling data 83% said the New York Government is dysfunctional, the other 17% must be related to Sheldon Silver or work for him, or something. If that many people think we are wrong, how can we continue to send the same folks back to Albany who are going to continue doing the same thing? Unfortunately most people get frustrated and they vote with their feet. So they move to North Carolina, or Pennsylvania, or Delaware or someplace else, to get out from under the burdensome taxes and regulations we've go here.

And regulations is another thing. We talked about taxes for a while. Regulations are almost worse than taxes. In theory, at least, you get a return on your taxes. But, if you put really burdensome regulations on businesses you get nothing in return. All you do is slow them down, they have to spend a lot of money getting up to whatever code it is, filing the necessary tons of paperwork that have to be done, with no return. We're one of the most over regulated states in the Union.
Our friends in Albany tend to do that when they have nothing else to do, they start writing regulations for things.

The Marcellus Shale gas(exploration/drilling) is one of those things that we have to pay close attention to. I think most people want gas exploration to move forward. They see that that is going to produce both money for local people, and for the tax base. They see it's going to produce jobs. However if you listen to Donna Lupardo, and you watch between the lines as she speaks, she talks about having the
most stringent regulations in the nation...on our gas drilling.

You and I know that if you get in your car today and you drive home, it's a dangerous proposition. If we put the most stringent regulations on your driving, you'd be driving home at 6 and a half miles per hour because that's safer than driving 65 miles an hour. What happens if you do that sort of thing is, people stop driving. They will take other transportation, or they will stay home, because you can't get anywhere at 6 and a half miles an hour. That's will happen to the gas drilling. If we over regulate it to the point that companies can't make any money on it, they just won't do it here. There are other places that have gas, and they will go there first, we will be way back at the end of the line and we will be left behind again.

RP:Describe yourself in one sentence.

AG:I'm a small business man, I'm a family man. I have a wife and two children and I've gone over a sentence already.(Laughter) My children are the most important thing in my life, and I just want to make this a better place for them.

Ieshuh Griffin:Not The White Man's Bitch

Ieshuh Griffin is a candidate for state office in Wisconsin, and she has a message for the voters. Ieshuh wants you to know that she is "NOT the white man's bitch".
Ieshuh even wanted that to be the slogan under her name on the ballot.  "Its not racist, its not a slur...its not pointed to a particular person, in my point of view the average politician is a token" Griffin says. The state's Government Accountability Board said no, and now Griffin is suing.  She says her "freedom of expression" is being "suppressed".  A spokesperson for GAB, Reid Magney says Griffin was denied because "Staff determined that her language used on her declaration of candidacy is pejorative in nature and does not satisfy the requirements of Wisconsin statutes".
Griffin, an Independent candidate, is running against State Representative Annette "Polly" Williams, who is retiring after 30 years in office.

According to an article on Fox News "Live Shots" There are more racially motivated words from the candidate on a blog site.
On a blog, which says its paid for by "The Poor People's Piece of the Pie Campaign",  a statement attributed to Griffin is posted saying "There currently is...an in-depth corruption within our government... SLAVERY, yes SLAVERY has returned in almost every aspect except name".
Here's a link to the hearing where Griffin testified before the GAB: http://www.wiseye.org/wisEye_programming/ARCHIVES-agencies_09.html#

Basil Marceaux For Governor Of Tennessee. We Are All Doomed.

Seriously? This could be the one draw back of the Tea Party movement. Everybody wants to be a politician now, to you know, bring real change to Washington, or some such. Unfortunately, you also get guys like Basil Marceau, who for lack of a better word is' mentally challenged'. He is running under the Republican Banner. I am so glad I am a Libertarian. No offense to all my Republican friends, but this years election is about 'conservative values' and 'conservative' candidates, the fact that most will be running under a Republican banner is inconsequential.

I would willingly support any candidate who shares my values, who will go to Washington, get the job done, and leave before he becomes another punk taking money from special interests. I approve of hard working Americans taking a stand, and getting involved in politics. However, unless you are 100% sure of your skills in the political area, please don't step in the ring with your pants around your ankles. It makes you look bad, your party look bad, and most of all, if you are a conservative candidate, it gives more fuel to the liberal blogosphere.

Ladies and Gentlemen, you're new galactic overlord, High Exalted Chief Overseer Basil Marceaux dot com of Tennessee. All bow and make whoopie noises and get murdered and go to jail. Grow grass in your lot and sell it for gas....or else!

Obama Slams GOP Economic Plan, Republicans Warn of Tax Hikes

Obama says an economic plan by the House Republican leader just repeats job-killing policies of the past and would take the country "backward at a time when we need to keep America moving forward."In turn, House GOP leader John Boehner said the president had stooped to partisan attacks because he can't sell his own plan at a time when millions of people want to know what happened to the jobs Obama promised to create.

FOXNews.com-Republicans on the Senate and House Judiciary Committees are calling for an investigation into allegations that the Justice Department wrongly abandoned a case against the New Black Panther Party and has adopted a policy to ignore voting rights violations against white victims.

Senate Judiciary Republicans sent a letter Friday to Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., chairman of the committee, requesting a hearing and House Judiciary Republicans wrote President Obama on Thursday asking him to direct Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to launch an investigation.

Thoughts On The November Mid-Term Elections.

B-vote

This upcoming mid-term election cycle is going to be very important. New faces, powered by the Tea Party Movement, and old enemies, powered by Socialist rhetoric and the majority in two branches of the government, plus a puppet dictator in the Executive branch.

I have seen first hand what the spirit of the Tea Party Movement can do first hand, and it is inspiring to me. I am witnessing regular people, from all walks of life, coming together to help shape the country that they love so much. I have not seen the violent, racist mob that the liberals keep telling me make up the bulk of the Tea Party Patriots, nor have I witnessed the awesome power they command, derived from their Republican/big oil overlords...another liberal myth.

I have seen human beings, tired of being taken advantage of, tired of being taxed too much, who; with little money, and less experience in the political arena, are engaging their candidates, collecting signatures, hosting public events, and rallying the people for the coming mid-term elections.

Barack Obama and the Liberal elite have awakened a sleeping giant, the American people. Some of these same souls have been silent all their lives. Now, for the first time they are active, and passionate participants in the political process of the greatest nation on earth. Most of us take for granted the act of voting, some don't even bother, but since the turn of the century each successive election has set records for voter turnout. Now with the advent of the Tea Party Movement, conservative Americans have a viable alternative to the corrupt "grassroots" movements on the left such as ACORN. This November might be one of the most important in our lifetimes, let's make it count. Get angry, get involved, get our government back.

Tea Party Billboard in Iowa Depicts Obama alongside Hitler and Lenin.

UPI is reporting that in Mason City, Iowa, a local Tea Party group put up a billboard with a picture of Barack Obama, Adolph Hitler, and Vladimir Lennon.

The billboard which was bought by the North Iowa Tea Party, was quickly covered up by the group.
One Iowa Tea Party member said the billboard crossed a dangerous line. "At our last rally we saw some people with these kinds of signs and asked people to put them down," John White, coordinator of the Iowa Tea Party movement said. "It's borderline hate crime." Members of the North Iowa Tea Party either declined to speak or did not return calls to Television and Newspaper outlets on Monday. The group officially apologized for their billboard on Wednesday. UPI is reporting that in Mason City, Iowa, a local Tea Party group put up a billboard with a picture of Barack Obama, Adolph Hitler, and Vladimir Lennon.

The North Iowa Tea Party's Co-Chairman Bob Johnson commented. "The image of Hitler just totally wiped everything else and it misrepresents the Tea Party movement," "They were right from the standpoint that the image was not a positive reflection on the tea people." One group was quite relieved that the billboard was taken down the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants. They told the New York Daily News
The Tea Party chapter "acted properly in removing the grotesquely offensive sign which should never have been put up in the first place," the group said in a statement. "We ask that political groups do not trivialize our suffering in the future by making false analogies with Hitler's horrendous crimes."
I will be more than happy to give them that message once the millions of Americans, British, Polish, German, Russian, etc that lost their lives during WWII come back from the dead and are removed from the roster of those that lost their lives at the hands of an evil dictator. Yes, Hitler did target Jews, but most of the free world    suffered at the hands of this lunatic, and as an American whose relatives fought and died in that war, it is my duty to inform you that we all have the right to be mad at Hitler, and use his ugly face as a tool to show people what evil really looks like. I am deeply sorry for your pain, but the analogy is valid, so your banal statement makes you look like you are really saying it because you vote Democrat, and not because you were really upset about the billboard.

I would like to be the first to say " I love you North Iowa Tea Party!" This is an amazingly fun sign. The stark reality of it all is this...statements made by Barack Obama closely parallel statements made by these two madmen, and we all know how there stories turned out. Barack Obama is for all intents and purposes the Democrats "golden negro". He has almost no political experience, his decisions on policy, and foreign relations so far have been disastrous, and the general public is starting to wake up and turn against this once shining lieght of hope. It has become painfully clear that this man was elected based solely on the color of his skin, and not on his merits. The most painful truth is the fact that it was black Americans that help elect him. He is the greatest triumph of the Democratic party. The first black president. The only problem with their great messiah is that he is an utter failure.

Is this billboard going to far? No. Is it controversial? Yes. Do I give a rats ass? Not one bit. It was all the rage when Bush was in office to wear shirts that said "Not My President." with a picture of Bush below the catch phrase. I need one of those T-shirts now for this man. Has he committed genocide against the jews? Not yet. Killed 20 million dissenters? Not that I can see. The point of this billboard, which is also my point, is that the path this man has taken, is the same path that led to Auschwitz, and the Tyranny under Stalin that led to the mass graves in Bykivnia, Kurapaty, Butovo, Sandarmokh, Kiev, Uman', Bila Tserkva, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr. People are starting to realize the truth and are taking a stand against it.

The protest groups, and the Tea Party in particular, are made up of "Awake" Americans. Those who have shaken off the fog of complacency and are ready to do battle with the most corrupt government in our nations great history. Most of what we are seeing in Washington today is not blatant. It is very subtle, but no less dangerous. The expansion of the government though far-reaching, and expensive new government programs, new 'Czars' to help micromanage every aspect of the lives of Americans, and especially businesses, big and small. In Germany in the months preceding World War II, the subtle language of the Nazi party became a firestorm of pure evil. It didn't take long for the Nazi's to take the unassuming changes they had enacted and turn them in to weapons of total domination. The same thing could happen here in America.

My greatest hope is that in November, the stranglehold the Democrats have on this country will be broken as they lose their majority in the House and possibly the Senate as well. It will be through the hard work of the Teat Party protesters and other groups like them such as the 9/12 movement ,Americans for Prosperity,  Americans for Tax Reform, FreedomWorks and Citizens United that will help turn the tide. Despite what the Democrats, the NAACP, and other liberal groups might claim, these groups are made up of real Americans organizing to help shape the political landscape. All the rhetoric, slander, and nonsensical accusations in the world will not derail this train. This train is being conducted by true patriots, and they will not be derailed by the hate filled lies of the liberal zombies who feel threatened by a populace they can no longer manipulate and control.

Tom Libous And Carl Paladino together At Tea Party Event In Endwell NY

Tom Libous-Carl PaladinoI just returned from the Libous-Paladino event at Brother's 2 restaurant in Endwell, NY, and I can tell you that it was an amazing event. The event was sponsored by BroomeTea.com, “New Yorkers Come Home” and Brothers 2 restaurant. Senator Tom Libous gave an impassioned speech tonight on the struggles he faces in the Democrat controlled state government, the imbalance of the representation and how it affects New York, and he spoke about his ideas on how he will help reform the corrupt government. He gave good details about the excessive spending of the New York City Democrats that infest the senate and the state assembly. While he made it clear he would stick to his parties wishes in endorsing their candidate for Governor, Rick Lazio, he also made it clear that he appreciates Carl Paladino's Ideas, and has no problem letting people know, that he would stand with Paladino, should he become New York's next Governor.

Carl Paladino
Carl Paladino also spoke to the crowd of around 75-100 people gathered in the large, yet intimate conference/dining area of Brother's 2. He spoke softly, and paused frequently, his tone was stoic, yet filled with emotion. He presented his case to the people in a clear, and reasoned manner. He didn't simply spout rhetoric, he presented in-depth ideas of how to reform New York, and get it back on track. He outlined his plan to cut taxes, to help businesses flourish, and in great detail, he presented his thoughts on how we will scour every department, group, committee, etc in the State, find ineffective, or mismanaged divisions, and fix or eliminate the ones that are doing the most damage.

Carl Paladino-David Nezelek-Republikid
He appeared to want to leave no stone unturned, even presenting the idea that he will personally invite every person in the state government to come forward, anonymously, and give him names, and departments that are inefficient, causing waste, or are corrupt. The highlight of his speech was his own words as to why he would be the best candidate for the job. He said "Andrew Cuomo said he was going to bring a mop, to mop up the State, Rick Lazio would bring a whisk broom, I will bring a baseball bat." "The baseball bat is a metaphor. You are my baseball bat. The people." I did not have the forethought to record tonight's event, so the wording may not be exact.

After Mr. Paladino finished his speech, there was an open Q&A in which both candidates answered questions from the audience. Senator Libous gave concise and insightful answers, as did Paladino. Mr. Libous had to leave early, as he had a previous engagement to attend. However, Carl Paladino continued to answer questions for another solid hour at least. After he left the stage, he spent a lengthy amount of time talking with members of the audience, and posing for photographs, and even signing autographs. Mr. Paladino, was warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in the thoughts of the people he may be working for come January 1st, 2011.

Tom Libous-David Nezelek-Republikid
Both Men showed a level of interest in the thoughts of the local populace, and were gracious, and down to earth with the crowd. Each man praised the other for their ideas, and accomplishments, and were genuinely friendly toward each other. This is an unusual break for Tom Libous, whose fellow Republicans are throwing their support squarely in Rick Lazio's corner. Libous seemed unphased by the idea that his speaking together with the outsider candidate might cause some tension between him and his peers. He did mention early on that before the event, Democrats in the Senate had said of him that he would stoop to any level, and speaking along side Paladino was his lowest yet.

John Maczko
Actor, and local resident John Maczko, was also on hand. He asked Candidate Paladino questions, and gave his opinions on some topics of interest. Other local candidates made appearances and spoke with local residents about their campaigns. Jason Stokes who is running for state assembly was their long after the event ended, talking to many of the attendees. Stokes has been working hard since he announced his bid for state Assembly, and appears to be a tireless campaigner. Stokes, a father of two, who spent 6 and a half years in the army, and 9 years between the Reserves and the National Guard. He has also spent 5 years as a full time fire-fighter.

Stokes, a conservative, will be running against republican Art Garrison for the party nomination for state assembly. I will be interviewing both candidates in the next week, and am looking forward to both mens' perspectives on what they hope to accomplish should they be elected.

One of the highlights of the evening was an impromptu video by one local Tea Party enthusiast, who is a retired sign painter. He gave his powerful rendition of the famous line from the movie "Network" to show his support for Gubernatorial candidate, Carl Paladino.

KKR Green Portfolio Project Saves Money and The Environment

There is always a lot of talk about green initiatives, and companies are trying a multitude of new ideas to clean up their act, literally. KKR Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. is a Global Equity firm that is Putting forth it's cost-reducing environmental management program to four companies, including two located outside of the United States.  Their program is intended to help these companies manage, and reduce their waste related to waste, paper, chemical use, and energy and water consumption.

Environmental management is not new, but it has become an increasingly important part of business in the 21st century. Reducing the cost of operations, coupled with reducing the impact to the environment is a win/win situation for most companies. The KKR approach is obviously light-years ahead of some the less effective ideas that have been toted in the past decade, like 'paperless offices'. The Green Portfolio Program is an all-encompassing solution to help companies reduce their costs by identifying, targeting, and eliminating areas of inefficiency that lead to waste.

The latest companies to come on-board are First Data in Atlanta, Ga., Lehigh Phoenix in Armonk, N.Y., Oriental Brewery in Seoul, Korea, and Tarkett  in Nanterre, France. The Green Portfolio Program was originally piloted in 2008 and focused on just three companies. Primedia, Sealy and U.S. Foodservice. In the short, 6 month trial, these companies were able to identify sources of waste, and in the end saved 16.4 million dollars.

The Green Portfolio Project was initiated in 2008 in a partnership with the Environmental Defense Fund. KKR brought on-board Elizabeth Seeger from EDF to help roll out the project. KKR has also recruited the talents of Ken Mehlman. Mehlman started out his career in politics working with Lamar S. Smith and Kay Granger. He went on to become National Field Director for the Bush-Cheney campaign in 2000. Ken Mehlman also served as White House Director of Political Affairs from 2001 until 2003.

As Managing Director and Head of Global Affairs of Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts & Co, Ken Mehlman is working closly with Elizabeth Seeger and the EDF to help ensure the success of the Green Portfolio Program.
Mehlman said in an interview with netimpact.org that “The future is real sustainability,” He said of these and other 'green initiatives' “People will want to do this [because] they think it’s the right thing to do. They should also want to do this now because it can save money.”

Lloyd Knecht To Run For Town Of Union Supervisor

Lloyd Knecht

Lloyd Knecht, Local businessman and owner of ANC Heating and Air Conditioning has announced he is running for Town of Union Supervisor. Knecht will be facing Republican incumbent John Bernardo.

In 2008, Knecht was brought before the Endicott village court when he refused to allow firefighters in to his business on Jennings Street in the Village of Endicott. The court reject his motion to dismiss the case on Fourth Amendment grounds. He was convincted, fined $50,000, and tentatively sentenced to 270 years in jail. Knecht won an appeal of his conviction in Endicott Court.
According to a brief article posted on Newschannel34.com website:
He says the court victory has made him a hero among people who are frustrated with high taxes, regulation and unhelpful government officials.  "By winning that case, I can't tell you how many people came out of the woodwork, the normal, quiet majority that are out there, and we've all kept our mouths shut and pay our taxes, I understand that. But, I stood up to the government."
Llloyd Knecht has a drive for signatures happening right now. Knecht needs around 750 signatures to be on the ballot. The latest figures show he needs about 300 more signatures in the next few days. If you are a registered Republican, and live in the Town of Union(Endicott, Endwell, Johnson City). There are currently 14,750 Registered Republicans in Union, so this should not be too difficult. If you would like to see Lloyd Knecht on the ballot you can sign the petition at the former Arby's/Fish Fry at 2802 East Main Street in Endwell, NY. The Petition Central location is open daily from 9AM until 9PM.

Michael Steele and Lindsey Graham Lose Their Way. Vote Them Out!

Michael Steele

Republican idiocy seems to come in twos. I commented during the Haiti Earthquake about Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson both making asses of themselves for their insensitive, politicized comments during that tragedy. Now it's happening again and this time it's just plain dumb. Michael Steele this week sounded like a liberal who thought George Bush was still in office when he opined "This is a war of Obama's Choosing." and that Afghanistan was a war  "which the United States never really wanted to engage in." Lindsey Graham, who apparently wants to lose his senate seat made a statement in which he derides the Tea Party movement as "a fad" and ultimately "unsustainable."

Lindsey Graham
Now, Michael Steele, the RNC Chairman, should know better. He has criticized members of his own party in the past for such poorly worded diatribes. If you remember some months back, Steele went after a local Republican group, after it posted pictures of Obama, Pelosi, and others as evil characters from comics and movies, most notably Obama as the joker. Now, it seems, Steele has completely lost his mind and decided that supporting our troops is no longer a viable option, and the best course of action would be to politicize the war in Afghanistan, just to add more fuel to the fires of discontent with President Obama. This shows a complete disconnect with his voter base, and his peers. Some of those peers are calling for his resignation.

Which brings us to Lindsey Graham. Here is a man who clearly is out of touch with the voters. The Tea Party movement has become a firestorm of disenchanted citizens who clearly want a change in Washington, and are willing to fight to get it. In recent weeks we have seen numerous candidates for Congress, and the Senate get the nomination, despite having little political experience, and in some cases, without their own parties support, simply because they have a Tea Party endorsement, or an endorsement from a Tea Party luminary like Sarah Palin. Dear Lindsey, Start packing! You are probably going to be dropped like a hot potato next election cycle, so think about your retirement plans now. Michael Steele might want to consider his options as well.

The political landscape is changing rapidly. A new level of consciousness is arising in the average voter. They are more passionate, more informed, and more willing than ever to take action to see that real 'change' comes to Washington. Regardless of your party affiliation you are not safe from criticism, not safe from being ejected from your seat by this newly enlightened voter base. The very fact that business men and women, former CEO's, and even an unemployed veteran looking for a Democratic nomination were the one's chosen by the people to represent them. Which was the way Washington used to run, before our Republic became infested with money loving, special interest pandering career politicians.

Ignorance and slips of the tongue used to be forgivable. But right now, the people are demanding perfection. Why? Because each day more people are getting laid off, those who have been unemployed for months are losing their unemployment benefits with no hope of an extension, and no hope of finding work in sight. The government is making promises it can not keep, and short changing us on the one's they do. We are spending money at record levels, yet the situation is not improving, regardless of what the White House or the MSM say. Those of us on the streets are seeing the devastation first hand. We are living in this economy, and we are hurting.

It's time to wake up America. Time to get out their and do your part to help. Let's get this country back on track so our children don't grow up in an America that looks like a third-world country, or a science fiction post apocalyptic nightmare ala Mad Max. We can do it, and the folks in the trenches like the Tea Party Protesters are proving every day, that this is of the people, by the people, for the people.

The Real Cost Of PCIP(Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan) Health Care.

For those uninsured in America because of a pre-existing condition, Obama says help is on the way. And by help he means a vague new insurance that costs a lot and the benefits of which are as of yet completely unknown. Sounds like the government to me.

The new Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan went in to effect July 1st and is aimed at covering people who were previously uninsurable because of a wide range of 'pre-existing' conditions. Health Insurance companies had some pretty broad definitions of what that meant. Diabetics, people with cancer, obese people, etc. However, the problem was in how these conditions were defined. In the case of obese people, even someone who is packing a few extra pounds could be considered a high risk patient and denied coverage, or your premiums could skyrocket to help offset the cost of your inevitable demise to heart disease, etc.

Under the new PCIP, these people will have the opportunity to get some much needed health insurance. Is there a catch, you say? Yes, there always is. There is a website with information about the new plan that you can browse and download an application to be considered for this new plan(Available in English and Illegal, err I mean Spanish.) The plan is broken up in to two distinct versions, and the costs vary from state to state.

The first version is for states whose PCIP program is run by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. These states are North Dakota, Minnesota, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia, Delaware, and Massachusetts. In some states this law is in competition with existing laws in those states. Tennessee, for instance, has AccessTN, which will cover people with pre-existing conditions. The cost of the PCIP in Tennessee is between $500 and $600. The cost under AccessTN is between $200 and $1000.

Here is a breakdown from WSMV in Nashville. http://www.wsmv.com/health/24114532/detail.html

For Tennesseans with incomes less than $64,000 for a family of three or $75,000 for a family of four, AccessTN may still be the best choice because premium discounts of 20, 40 and 60 percent are available. The waiting period is only three months, compared to six months for the new PCIP.

The prices in states that are run by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services range from between $356.00 and $435.00 in Wyoming, to a whopping $552.00 and $675.00 in Massachusetts.

That might be do-able for some, however you need to consider the deductible. In most cases it appears to be between $1,000 to $2,000 dollars if the doctor you are seeing is 'in-network' to $10,000 or more for out of network coverage. So even if you qualify, you are looking at blowing a minimum of $1,000 before the government even lifts a finger to help you.

On average I accrue less than $1,000 in medical debts over a two year period. So for me, this is definitely not an option. Should you be unlucky enough to live where there are no doctors that are 'in-network' you will be giving up 1/3 to ½ your yearly income before your PCIP kicks in. The real WTF-factor here is the fact that only people with serious or terminal illnesses are going to spend more than $10,000 a year on medical bills.

If you are for instance, fat, you probably might need to take meds to control your diabetes, or your high blood pressure. Medication for diabetes can run between $80-$200 a month, most blood pressure meds can be purchased at Wal-mart for about $4 a month. So between doctor visits, and medications, you will be looking at spending at least the first 4-6 months of the year paying for your treatment yourself. Some of the plans did mention what the deductible was for medication and how much it would cover yearly, but It's still a little vague, so I'll update this later with more accurate information.

The second version is for all other states, they will be running the program themselves. The costs are about the same, however some states, like New York for instance, don't even know what that Deductible or the Out of Pocket Limits are going to be yet. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

This is a very scary prospect for me, as a resident of New York. The state is in dire financial straights right now. Delayed tax return payments, delayed payments to non-profits that rely on the states help, some counties have run out of money to pay for their Social Services/Welfare programs and are being told they will have to wait for more funds. Can we seriously expect the funds for the PCIP program to be there??

According to healthcare.gov, the plan:
  • Will cover a broad range of health benefits, including primary and specialty care, hospital care, and prescription drugs. All covered benefits are available to you, even to treat a pre-existing condition.
  • Won’t charge you a higher premium just because of your medical condition.
  • Doesn’t base eligibility on income.
Let's look at those last two statements. Won’t charge you a higher premium just because of your medical condition. It doesn't have to charge you a higher premium, it's already is high. It doesn't base eligibility on income. What if I can't afford even regular health insurance, let alone the premium for having a pre-existing condition? If I can't afford your sparkling PCIP, will Medicaid cover all my bills as effectively? What if I make too much to get Medicaid, but not enough to afford your PCIP program?

This plan will stay in effect until 2014, when it will become illegal for insurance providers to deny coverage to adults based on a pre-existing condition.(OFF TOPIC RANT ALERT:Even though insurance companies are jerks for denying people coverage A.They are a business and have a right to do so, and B. It is not, nor should it ever be the Governments job to dictate how and when a business can keep or lose customers. There is no defense issue here, no issue demanding regulation by the transportation commission, no issue with the environment, no issue with the border. Somehow, the Government has decided that my business needs to add people to it's roster, even if said people could cause my business to file for bankruptcy. Ummm...Well than. Where's my bailout?)

All in all, if you are one of the millions of Americans with a pre-existing condition who have been praying for help, this will only be a miracle for those of you who are already in a hospital dying, or have at least an extra $1,000 lying around to pay for the deductible. I feel sorry for those people who were cheering for “socialized medicine” and “free health care for all”. I'm sorry, on what planet is this considered free? To be fair, in England, if you have a pre-existing condition, you could end up in a hospice, being denied food and water, until you die. I would love to see people who desperately need help, get it. But Apparently the Obama Regime feels differently. They are offering us castles of hope, but making them out of paper. When they inevitably fall, we see that there was nothing there in the first place.
